President Bush declares “Captive Nations Week”
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim July 15 through 21, 2007, as Captive Nations Week. I call upon the people of the United States to reaffirm our commitment to all those seeking liberty, justice, and self-determination.

Wow. According to DCist, GW is America’s most expensive college. 58% tuition increase in the last seven years. And thats not including room and board (and booze) in Foggy Bottom, an expensive and boring neighborhood.

Part of the joy that was living in West Philly and working for UPenn was the abundance of cheap lunch options from food trucks. There was thai, falafel, cheesesteaks, indian. And even crepes. And sushi. SUSHI! raw fish from a truck! Seriously. It was great.
But now I hear that food trucks are coming to DC:
Under the city’s phase-in program, currently licensed vendors get first dibs so they can keep their current locations. New applicants can apply for spots within the Downtown BID starting in January, and for locations in a wider zone stretching from Union Station to Georgetown in July. Citywide permits are up for grabs at the start of 2008.
