BarBri Class Action
BarBri is basically the only nationwide provider of Bar preparation materials. They’re owned by West — who also run WestLaw and huge amount of legal text publishing. I’m signed up for the NY course. It was basically $2600 for a month of videos and set of workbooks.
If you’re a law student, or recent grad like me, I’m sure you’ve by now heard of the BarBri class action. Its for anti-trust — as if you couldnt’ guess that. I got my notice today — the pleadings are at their website: www.barbri-classaction.com. I hope we all get checks for like $18.97 or something.
And now back to reading my BarBri books.

I thought everybody would be refunded cost of course starting back to ‘97. Will you please clarify?

Damages, in a perfect world, would be the cost difference between a competitive market and a non-competitive market. So you would never get a full refund. But maybe you might — IIRC, the Sherman act allows for treble damages.
This is a class action, and a settlement may be likely, or some other result which doesn’t get everyone in the class full damages. Plus there are going to be the attorney’s fees.
