					<description>Switzerland!? I'm thinking that must be one hella cool fellowship you're on, my  friend! You should be taking and posting more pics of trips like this so that those of us lowly stay-in-one-place people can live vicariously through you!


As to the subject of your post: My girlfriend gets to go to Paris next week so we were watching a travel guide video and they showed one of the fare gates for the Paris metro. Thhose gates are like floor-to-ceiling -- no way to jump the gate and board the train. That sort of total control is kind of the opposite of this panopticon-like &quot;self control&quot; thing you're describing. I think I prefer the panopticon. Maybe I've just grown to love being governed by fear and paranoia more than brute force.</description>
