Back

Boy I’ve been slacking off on the posting. Now that life is slowing down a bit, I’ll try to get back into the swing of posting.

There’s one week of exams left. Just need a two hour exam for Professional Responsibility Wednesday afternoon, and a legal brief written in the form of a classical Greek rhetorical argument. As you can imagine, this is going to be some of the greatest work I’ve ever done, being the last things I need to do for law school.

In other news, I got invited to be on a student panel Wednesday morning at the Computers, Freedom and Privacy (CFP) conference. They’re still working out the details, but it looks like its a go. It’s going to be a runaround: my PR final is that afternoon. On the other hand, this conference is plain old the coolest thing ever. There’s going to be so many people from all sorts of places there — technology folk, activists, government people — and I’m looking forward to meeting them. I don’t think they’re exaggerating when they say:

For 16 years, the Computers, Freedom & Privacy Conference has played a major role in the public debate on the future of privacy and freedom in the online world – around the world from Europe and Asia to North & South America. The CFP audience is as diverse as the Net itself, with attendees from the community of computer professionals, hackers, crackers and engineers who work the code of cyberspace intersecting with representatives from government, business, education, and non-profits. The themes are broad and forward-looking. CFP explores what will be. It is the place where the future is mapped.

I’m sure to find some people that have good advice for my Fellowship. That’s going to be great. I want to make the best of this two-year project, and getting continuous advice and comments from people in the public interest and technology fields is going to be key.

It’s too bad I’m going to miss some of the panels because I have schoolwork left to do.
